A Warm Welcome to You
Dear Parents and Guardians,
On behalf of the faculty and staff, we would like to welcome you to the 2011-12 school-year! School programs and DDS Day programs will begin on Wednesday, August 31st. Our DDS programs will be housed in our Groton site. All of our school programs will be housed in our Niantic sites. Any participants who are attending extended day programs only will continue to attend the same site as in the past.
Starting this year, NEAT Marketplace will have a satellite program in our Groton Site. Services available through this program include refurbishing equipment, lower-cost adaptive equipment, and up to date assistive technology.
One change that we did not anticipate which will affect our programs is the closing of the Mystic Oral School where we have had our Tuesday Extended Day therapeutic swim program. Due to state budget cuts at this time, the pool will no longer be available to us. Tuesday programs will be at individuals regularly attended sites.
We would like to introduce you to some new members of the Lighthouse staff. Sue Rosenfield, Education Director at Main Street; Kim Blair, DDS site Director; Joan Pasay, Day Teacher at Main Street; and Kyle Smith, Extended Day teacher at the Annex. We wish everyone success as we begin our next steps!
