  • Aspergers, High-Functioning Autism (HFA), Non-Verbal Learning Disability (NLD), Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS), or Social Communication Disorder
  • Low average to high intelligence quotient (IQ)
  • Emotionally, behaviorally, and psychologically stable
  • Motivated to meet goals and live independently
  • Follows academic year calendar
  • Full/part time and summer programming available based upon individual needs
LIVECTA transition programs are community-based programs where students build upon and further develop the skills necessary for independence. All programs focus on our core program areas: Employment, Education, Social/Personal, Community, and Independent Living. Instruction is delivered through a variety of methods including small group workshops, advising sessions, and in-house staff instruction. Instructional strategies are tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. LIVECTA aids students in developing and maintaining a network of resources in the community for life-long independence by working closely with other support services, colleges, and businesses.

Transition Academy
The Transition Academy is a residential program offering comprehensive post-secondary educational programs that focus on all areas of transition. Digital Media Course High School and College students
Fall/Spring Semesters, Fridays 6:00pm – 8:00pm

This course is designed to teach students current media creation skills and to familiarize students with hardware and software used in media creation. Class format includes instruction time, lab time, small group projects, and independent projects that showcase the skills learned within the class. Students also learn how to collaborate on projects and work independently. Specifically, the course fosters skills necessary for project management such as organization, prioritization of tasks, and time-management. The goal of the course is for students to develop valuable 21st century employment skills in the area of digital media.

Aspie Solidarity
Males 18 and older
Tuesdays, 6:00pm – 8:00pm (year-round open enrollment)
Aspie Solidarity is a group of individuals with similar and sometimes “quirky” interests that meet up once a week to hang out with friends. This is a great place to meet new friends and stay connected with old friends in an accepting, easy-going, laid back atmosphere.

Friends Program
Grades 6-12
Fridays 3:00pm – 6:00pm during academic year calendar
Summer Friends: Monday through Friday, 2:00pm – 5:00pm for 5 weeks in July/August

Friday Friends is a social skills building group for individuals on the Autism Spectrum. The program focuses on conversation skills, perspective taking, problem solving, reading social cues, community skills, and developing/maintaining friendships. Social skills instruction is embedded into age appropriate, student driven activities. Typical high school peers also participate in a semi-structured environment
